Peanut Butter Recall Update

The peanut butter recall continues. The FDA has an updated list of all recalled products, which I've included below. As it turns out, Peanut Corporation of America - the company that supplied the bad peanut butter to everyone else - sells organics and pet food products in addition to just regular, plain old peanut butter. Also, where the original recall only included relatively small size containers of peanut butter by PCA, now the recall includes sizes like 1700 lbs and entire tankers. As a result, the recall of retail products now includes candy, cookies, crackers, ice cream, pet food, and snack bars!

Thanks for the full list. (4.00 / 4)
Have you posted this at Dailykos or MyDD or other websites where more people will see it?  It should have as big an audience as possible.

That's far too many recalls....it's insane to think that it's all due to the peanut.... (4.00 / 3)

hey did you notice (4.00 / 3)
that the dog biscuits and cookie dough you commented about the other day aren't on this list?

You're one of those people (4.00 / 4)
who gets everything they write on the rec list, aren't you?  Darn you and your quality posts!

Well, if it makes you feel any better... (4.00 / 3)
I am the Anti Rec List blogger!

Not that I really checked or would even know how, but I'm fairly certain that I may have the highest average number of "recs per diary" without ever having made it onto the Rec List at dKos.  Somebody with massive amounts of time (and the know-how) should maybe come up with that stat!

Mine each seem to get about 40 or so recs within the first 30 - 45 minutes, and then they just slowly and quietly sink down the list from there...

Heh.

I only wish... (4.00 / 4)
I've got some really unloved diaries out there, ones that went nowhere NEAR the rec list. Recently I think I had one with like 5 comments or something like that... can't quite remember. Thing is, nobody ever SEES those. So it only LOOKS like I get everything on the rec list :)

question on Clif bars (4.00 / 2)
We have some of the peanut toffee buzz and the peanut chocolate chip.

We bought them at different times, so many are not within the dates of the recall (a few are).

Mr. desmoinesdem thinks we should chuck them all out in case they end up expanding this recall further.

I lean toward checking the dates and keeping the ones that are not in the "bad" range.

What do people around here think? In general, Mr. desmoinesdem worries more about contaminated food than I do. He will throw out yogurt if it's a day past the date. I will smell it and eat it if it seems fine, even several days past the date.

why not hang on to them for a bit (4.00 / 1)
and see if the recall expands to include them? Once this blows over, eat them.
