You have it so easy... (4.00 / 2)
I'm watching 468 races here!!!

;)

Oh I'm watching them all (4.00 / 2)
and then trying to figure out how the committee membership changes

"I can understand someone from Iowa promoting corn and soy, but we are not feeding the world, we are feeding animals and soft drink companies." - Jim Goodman

[ Parent ]
Wholly Molely South Carolina! (4.00 / 2)
Check out SC-02 -- Joe Wilson ("You Lie!") is losing with 60% in!!!

[ Parent ]
Horseshoes and hand grenades... (4.00 / 2)
Oh well, he won.  But in his closest race yet.  That would have really been something...

[ Parent ]
Kurt Schrader wins in OR-05... (4.00 / 2)
...and moves up quite a few slots in the House Ag Committee.  Unfortunately, he's in the minority now.

So, as I'm looking over the Blue Dog losses (4.00 / 2)
We don't try to make our party ideologically pure like the right does... but fortunately, the Republicans are taking care of that for us this time around. Now if only we could get these Blue Dogs out but still keep control of the House overall... that would be the day.

"I can understand someone from Iowa promoting corn and soy, but we are not feeding the world, we are feeding animals and soft drink companies." - Jim Goodman

Well, you know what the narrative's gonna be... (4.00 / 2)
"Democrats lost big because they're too lib'rul!  They need to move to the right!"

Steny Hoyer, Minority Leader?  Yeah, he's sure gonna give 'em hell...

(rolling eyes...)

...along with anything and everything the Republicans ask for.  And then some.

Wanna place bets on whether Social Security will be around for either of us, Jill?  It's "Triangulation Time", I fear...

I am perfectly willing (4.00 / 2)
to move to another country if need be. For health care or whatever other reason. If I ever get cancer, I swear, I'm picking up and going somewhere that won't make me die for the crime of being too poor. I can't afford chemo but I can afford a plane ticket.

Between you and me... (4.00 / 2)
...(and well, anybody else reading right now, heh) I'm looking at New Zealand.

[ Parent ]
triangulation (4.00 / 1)
I hope not. The clattering jackdaws seem united about that, but I take the opposite message. Obama should be aggressively progressive if he hopes for a second term.

Very unfortunately, Obama is not aggressively progressive.

Dick Durbin says spending will be reduced. My view would be, spending reduction must be accompanied by ending the free pass for the estates of billionaires, and a reversion to Bill Clinton's tax structure for personal incomes above $250,000. And for shit's sake, find a way to get megabuck corporations to pay at least some taxes.

[ Parent ]
Yeah, I hope not either... (0.00 / 0)
...but you know, once David Broder and the rest of The Village say Dems need to swing further right, well hell.

The Catfood Commission will ask for an age 71 retirement age, and Obama will offer them 74 before negotiations even begin.

That's his style.  But shhhhhh, he's brilliant!

Never thought it'd be Democrats who finally killed Social Security once and for all.  That's quite an accomplishment though, I guess...

[ Parent ]
Nancy Pelosi (4.00 / 1)
Pelosi should stay in Congress. Could be fun, and I'd rather she ran the new caucus than Hoyer.

[ Parent ]
Blanche... (4.00 / 2)
Can she do any serious damage before she leaves?  She's now looking for work, as we know...

No idea nt (4.00 / 2)

One more Blue Dog who won't be back... (4.00 / 2)
John Salazar, CO-03.  Gawn...

Collin Peterson... (4.00 / 1)
Can't we find like 15 other people named Collin Peterson and run two of them under each and every party line in MN-07?

Heh...

Btw, Salazar's loss makes it 13 returning Blue Dogs rather than 14...

MN-06 (4.00 / 1)
gawd...

Michele Bachmann Making Play For GOP Leadership Post

On Tuesday, Rep. Michele Bachmann, one of the more eccentric members of the Republican Party, put out feelers that she would like to assume the leadership role likely to be vacated by Rep. Mike Pence (R-Ind.)
...

Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) founded the tea party caucus last year. It's thought that House Republican Conference Chairman Mike Pence (R-IN) will step down (he's the number three in GOP leadership on the minority side...the slot would be the number four position in a GOP majority).

We get what we deserve... (4.00 / 1)
Hey, half the country is clearly batshit insane so why not?
