Today's Question... (4.00 / 3)
Does Flavor Flav set his clock according to Daylight Saving Time?

For that matter, does he adjust it accordingly while out on tour?

According to Andy Borowitz (4.00 / 2)
the Teapartyers routinely set their clocks back two centuries.

And "The War of the Truffles" continues... (4.00 / 2)
And all of Las Vegas continues to debate whether to shave or not to shave. It's quite the important question. :-D

Act on Principles and make equality happen.

LOL.... (4.00 / 1)
I was still living in NYC when the High End Burger Wars were in full-scale battle.  IIRC (& I probably don't) there was a burger going for somewhere between $50 and $75 that involved not only truffles -- probably shaved -- but also fois gras.

No, I never tasted it.

Committee change in the works? (4.00 / 4)
One of my favorite political blogs, Political Animal by Steve Benen at the Washington Monthly (which, BTW, has a great article about how industry consolidation is killing "America's job machine") has a post about how Democrats are considering changing the rules about who chairs committees.  Instead of using seniority, they might let the caucus vote. This change could improve party unity by creating a very real possibility that Senators who cross the party -- like Sen. Lincoln on numerous issues, notably health care reform -- will pay for their transgression by losing his or her gavel.

That would be great... (4.00 / 3)
...but unfortunately, I'm gonna have to agree with most of the comments in that blog piece.  The Democrats are too cowardly to actually go through with it.

I'm thinking it's yet another frustrated empty 'threat', or more likely, just another empty promise to appease whatever progressives are still out there that believe anything the Democrats say.  DC Democrats have been cowards my whole life, and I don't expect that to change anytime soon.

Aw, Jay... (4.00 / 1)
I agree the Dems have been cowards through your whole life...but I'm old.  I remember when we had more than two who weren't cowards.

That would have been back in the Late Jurassic (i.e., pre-Reagan).

yay (4.00 / 3)
that would be AWESOME!

Seniority (4.00 / 2)
I didn't know that only Dems seated chairs based on seniority. I assumed Republicans did also.

Republicans probably used to use seniority mainly. If so, i wonder when that changed.

[ Parent ]
Don't they? (4.00 / 2)
I thought they did, too...

Granted, I don't pay much attention to the internal politics of the Party of No...but I thought both parties used seniority.

Not so?

apparently not (4.00 / 2)
Not according to the Benen article.

the Senate takes care of their own (4.00 / 2)
its truly undemocratic.

This rule change could help. But as far as Plantation Blanche goes, the best thing would be to get her sorry ass out kicked out in the primary.

Same for "Dem" Arlen Specter here in PA

Our House of Lords... (4.00 / 2)
Honestly, I'd be fine with a unicameral federal legislature.  My thinking these days is abolish the bastards, or just turn them into a ceremonial debating society.  They can even wear fancy wigs and whatnot, secret handshakes, take tea and shit.

Whatever, just get them all as far the hell away from real power as possible.  I can count the number of US Senators worth keeping on one hand, and still have one particular finger left over to turn around and give to the rest of them.

LOL (4.00 / 2)
Our House of Lords...

I've thought that of them for a while now. Thought it was just me who looked at it that way.

Normal people scare me.... But not as much as I scare them.

great visual.. (4.00 / 2)
and great idea.

Is Russ Feingold the 1 worth keeping???

And a tear comes to my eye... (4.00 / 1)
These slices are just beautiful.  I miss seeing pizza like that!  Homesick.

Hmmmm, just in time for lunch, too.  Now I'm hungry, damn...
