I feel that people are really encouraged to be selfish by their televisions. "It's all about YOU!"

I find this to be really creepy, but to me, it explains the pervasive fear that many people have that somewhere tax money that came out of their salary goes to help someone else. Oh, the horrors.

I'd think it should be an honor to help a fellow American (or even a fellow human). :)
