Hello, is seems a bit early for sunsets but there should be one coming around soon. I hope you are having a nice Saturday afternoon and have a wonderful weekend coming your way. Just in case you might need a little visual to help you decompress, I've put together a collection of the week in sunsets from my Bronx window.

That photo must look like I'm messing around with Photoshop but I wasn't. This extremely hot New York City week had a few sunsets where the sun was not too strong for digital photography. The Monday shot above wasn't even the best. Sunday looked like Jupiter or Saturn without the rings setting over the Palisades. It was also a big week for sailboats at sunset.

I know I'm a little strange but I get excited about that sort of thing. If you like then follow below for my week long celebration.

It was an extremely hot week in we had here in NYC but it didn't not seem quite a steamy as most August weeks when you get to hear a fellow New Yorker say "You can cut the humidity with a knife" at least ten times a day. Instead of hazy late August afternoons the was shining through more like September.

Saturday was the coolest day this week. The high temperature was only 88.0°F. There was a nice little sunset after what seemed like a scorcher at the time. From blue...

To gold...

On Sunday the thermometer here hit 91.0°F. It was a great day for air conditioning. Outside of CBS Sunday Morning it was not a very good day for Sunday morning news shows.

Often according to the time of year, sunsets tend to mimic each other.

The sunset was also similar but offered up a better show. The late afternoon sun looked very similar to Saturday with a two tone late afternoon sun in the higher clouds.

It seemed like the sun would be lost in the low lying clouds, that are often seen over Bregen County during summertime.

But seldom seen, a well placed break in the clouds.

And then, I guess because the August haze cuts the sun back a bit, the Jupiter setting over the Hudson show.

At 91.9°F for a high Monday was another day that felt more like a June heatwave than the usual August hazy, hot and humid. Again a clear two tone late afternoon.

Again a golden shift.

And again a sunset you can look into.

On Tuesday the high was only 90.0°F and the haze over New Jersey won. Tuesday had an early sunset.

After Tuesday's sunset there was a devastating thunder storm here with sudden 70+ mph winds that killed hundreds of NYC trees, Central Park lost many too. The nasty storm did not take the mean out of Wednesday's temperature with the high again coming in at 90.0°F but the clouds stayed.

The sun did get to poke through once.

Lighting up the Bronx at the last minute.

And a passing sailboat improved the golden finish.

Thursday with a high temperature of only 89.1°F was no cool down day. Every time I saw another New Yorker walk out of an air conditioned building to the sweltering sidewalk they started talking to themselves. Almost everyone started with "Oh My God!" The sunset was warm too.

And once again, a sunset that not to bright for the camera and very pleasing to the eye.

Friday was another scorcher. Someone almost took a swing at me for saying "Yea but it's a dry heat." It did seem a bit dry for NYC in August, sort of like an oven with a really bright lite inside.

In the late afternoon there was a break from the heat.During Friday's sunset it was raining on the Bronx while the sun was breaking through the clouds over New Jersey.

It was a strong break from the hot afternoon rain.

But Friday was all about the afterglow.

And twilight show.

Well there's my little obsession. I hope you enjoyed the view. Did you take any pictures this week of sunsets ore even pooties and puppies?

How's the weather by you. Right now a rainstorm seems to be just breaking up here and it's way down to 84°F. September is coming.
