LVL Gear: "Too Big to Fail" T-Shirt

by: Jill Richardson

Mon Jun 08, 2009 at 15:56:42 PM PDT

Presenting... La Vida Locavore T-shirts. I haven't succeeded in putting our logo on a shirt yet, but I've got another design available. The order form is in the ads column. The shirts are organic cotton, made by a local T-shirt shop in San Diego. The front is shown below and the back says "LaVidaLocavore.org"

The shirts are light blue, available in sizes from Small to 3XL. The brand is Anvil Organics, which is made in Honduras. I can also do children's sizes if you would like - just email me to ask.

Hey Bud! (4.00 / 6)
I know you want a T-shirt! I'd also be glad to design one special for you that says "Stop Treating Our Soil Like Dirt" :)

"I can understand someone from Iowa promoting corn and soy, but we are not feeding the world, we are feeding animals and soft drink companies." - Jim Goodman

LOL (4.00 / 6)
I think you should do it anyway! :)

I have succumbed to the Twitter craze. @Omir55

I like that dirt line... (4.00 / 4)
It would make a good shirt.

You should do ballcaps too (4.00 / 5)
hint, hint...

Regarding locavores as elitists - explain to me how supporting local business is elitist....

What, no Amazon option? (4.00 / 2)
You should really look into an Amazon account. I've already got your book on layaway. A t-shirt (or 2) would boot me up to the $25/free shipping threshold.

Yea, "Stop Treating Our Soil Like Dirt" is a winner too.

Yankee Frugality: use it up, wear it out, make it last, or do without.

They do shirts? (4.00 / 1)
I go with a local T-shirt shop that I like to support for the shirts. They are nice guys and very easy to work with. What would you want the Stop Treating Our Soil Like Dirt" shirt to look like?

"I can understand someone from Iowa promoting corn and soy, but we are not feeding the world, we are feeding animals and soft drink companies." - Jim Goodman

It would be a payment option. (4.00 / 1)
The product would still ship from your local t-maker but payment would be handled through Amazon. Are you on good terms with MSOC? She has that setup at MLW. Or you could ask Amazon directly. Lots of people have vendor accounts. I'm not a merchant, (and in fact I'd have difficulty selling water to a man whose hair was on fire,) but it can't be difficult to accept payment through Amazon. (No, I don't have stock in Amazon. lol.) But I do have probs with PayPal. And I can't deal with Ebay either since I told them to stick their spam up their ass.

What would you want the Stop Treating Our Soil Like Dirt" shirt to look like?

Hmmm. Are you talking front and back? OK. Top of my head...

Front: Can of oil spilling down over flowers wilting. (lol.) Worms poking up, "eyes" x-ed like in cartoons, "tongues" lolling. Caption: Worms "Help!"

Back?: Row of healthy flowers above rich brown soil. Below soil level worm tunnels; two worms wriggling through. Caption: "Ah! This is the life!"

Yankee Frugality: use it up, wear it out, make it last, or do without.
